MARINE WINCHES:

This product was solely designed and manufactured by DMMAS. It has been in service since 2005. Marine winches form a basic type of winches that can be utilized in different applications. Whether to use a single high-capacity winch or several low-capacity winches depends on the case in hand. In the present application, the target mechanical load is spread over a wide area as illustrated in the main photo. Loading points have to be discrete, distant and non-interdependent. This calls for the use of a number of relatively low-capacity winches. A 350-ton total capacity is regularly distributed over 35 winches and the design lifting capacity is thus limited to 10 tons per winch.

MAIN COMPONENTS:

The winch drive consists of an electric motor with an electromagnetic brake. A planetary gearbox transfers motion to a spur pinion-gear combination. A grooved wire drum balanced by an appropriate flywheel is directly driven by the gear. Wire ropes of convenient quality are used to transmit loads. The whole arrangement is mounted on a metallic chassis.
