MONORAIL TRACK:

The track constitutes a major component of our monorail-type weed screen cleaning systems installed at open-source water intakes of some irrigation pumping stations in Egypt. A truss comprises a transverse track loaded on vertical supports. The track provides the path along which a trolley moves back and forth. The trolley moves forward towards water intakes to allow for weed collection. It then moves backwards to complete the cycle and discharge weeds. The track length has therefore to cover both the intake platform and the discharge area. Vertical supports are distributed along the track length. Single supports are fixed on a concrete tile over the intake platform. A dual support is fixed on a concrete base in the discharge area where a maintenance platform is provided. All truss elements are manufactured in compliance with well-established industry standards.

Two parallel U 260 DIN 1026 track beams are welded along their upper surface with a 300-mm-width 10-mm-thickness steel plate. The track beam length varies from site to site. It ranges from 28 to 38 meters. Three to four single supports are used in a single station with an approximate height of seven meters. Dual support height amounts to about 4.5 meters. Different track designs are possible to cope with site requirements and limitations.
